www.drawastickman.com is a web-based game in which you simply draw a stick man using your mouse.

Once the drawing is done, the fun starts.  Your stick man comes to life and you have to help him or her through an adventure.  In the example below, one was asked to draw a ladder that the stick man could use to climb the tree and reach the tiger.  Now, one is being asked to draw a tiger suit.

Finally after five months of investigations comes the Jon Corzine MF Global bombshell Friday [Bloomberg: Corzine Ordered Funds Moved to JP Morgan].  The Bloomberg article references an e-mail written by Edith O’Brien,  the assistant Treasurer at MF Global and a memo written by congressional staffers. A few aspects are of note:  first that Corzine “gave direct instructions” to transfer $200 million in segregated consumer funds to JP Morgan for payment on an overdraft and used a lower level functionary O’Brien to carry it out.   Then in a clear violation of fiduciary responsibility JP  Morgan’s risk officer asked MF Global for a letter stating these funds were not customer segregated accounts, but then took the money anyway. The chief counsel for MF Global nixed the letter JPM sent over as “too strong”.

O”Brien is to testify before Congress on Wednesday, but will plead the Fifth. This suggests she has not been offered a deal, or immunity.

But why do sperm carry out this complicated calculation that we first encounter at the upper secondary school level?  Sperm have only one aim: to find the egg.  The concentration of the attractants and, therefore also, the calcium concentration in sperm is very high near the egg. The mathematical trick probably enables sperm to be able to react even in the presence of such high calcium concentrations.

For example, Microsoft is often best source for Windows information. Microsoft does have a search facility but my experience is that Google has done a better job of indexing Microsoft articles than Microsoft. So when looking for Windows material I often add a term site:microsoft.com to my search.

It's back and it's free. In its new incarnation, you play it as an online game, and the adventure takes place in and around Hawaii. Other planes and environments are, or will be, available but these will be optional paid-for extras.

Before you can play, you'll need to download the Windows client for Microsoft Flight. From my testing, this seems to work best from Internet Explorer. Also, note that you'll need a decent games-spec graphics card in your PC, so check the requirements on the web site carefully. It also requires Windows 7.Plus, be aware that the download is some 1,500 MB (1.5 GB), which is a massive amount of data. So check that the download, and continued playing, won't take you over your monthly broadband provider limitations. And if you're on dial-up, forget it.

College graduates from the class of 2010 carried an average of $25,250 in student loan debt, and the nation’s total student debt almost reaches $1 trillion: This is a 14-fold increase from 15 years ago and dwarfs the country’s credit card debt, which is just shy of $800 billion.

A third is funded directly by the federal government. The chart below (from the Fed) shows the growth in student loans held by the US government. In fact the bulk of the growth in consumer credit we’ve seen recently comes from these increases in federally held student loans.

In order to get paid on a default, you need a committee to evaluate whether or not failing to make payments is a — WTF?!? — default? Even more ridiculous, the committee is composed of biased, interested parties with positions in the aforementioned securities?
